Some thoughts from last years participants: The event ran very smoothly. The meal and coffee breaks were very well spaced. My instructors (Anna and Tessa) were so amazing and positive. And I loved that the music was a part of everyone's weekend, especially the campfire singalong. What a special memory. Back Porch Swing was a perfect choice. The mosaics unveiling ended up being a wonderful serendipitous group activity. Maybe hanging some of the art around the dining area and having some readings from the writers would be a good way of sharing those activities too. The facility is wonderful. It is obvious that Mike is very receptive to having artists around, which is great. Some sort of accommodations for painting inside when the weather is bad are needed. Maybe small tables and chairs that can be set up at the windows somehow. The dining facilities worked really well to bring everyone together and the food was absolutely fabulous so don't change a thing there! You made us feel very well cared for. First of all, I thought the weekend was marvelous. Good people and a fine setting were two contributing factors. It was quite evident the proprietor wanted us there and that made for a warm atmosphere. The food was top notch. I liked the vegetarian options, and the fact that there was always fresh fruit and veg. I know we’re all coming for workshops and to exercise our various creative muses and feed the soul, but feeding the body is a part of that. There are few experiences, I think, more enriching than coming together over good food in a creative atmosphere. And the stone mosaics! Terrific! What energy those two had. I felt like Hercules cutting those stones. I had done some tile mosaics but nothing like this. It really got the creative muse going. Anna was a marvelous leader both on technique and inspiration. I think you did a tremendous job.
