"My interest in photography began during the 1960's, leading to an apprenticeship at commercial photography businesses and college courses in the San Francisco area. I moved to Canada in 1970 and discovered a new inspiration in the wild environments of western Canada. In 1998 I started assembling photographs taken throughout the 1990's for the first volume of a projected six book series on Western Canada. Photographs of Western Canada, Volume One: The West Coast, Barkley Sound to Combers Beach was published and released for sale in May 2001."  Peter Ramos
